La strada finisce sul fiume online in Romana. An American journalist, Barbara, goes to Italy to interview Roi, the country's most notorious outlaw when she imagines to be some kind of modern-day Robin Hood. Through local contacts and friends, she arranges a meeting and finds that her "robin-hood'" is just a hood, hoodlum and ruthless criminal. The police are about to capture him but he uses her as an hostage to make his escape but they are marooned for a night in a country farm house. It becomes a harrowing night for her and the poor farmers.
